Pledge, Commitment, and Recognition

The Stakeholder Committee members will exemplify the commitment to the values and standards of the 50th Anniversary Project. As a result of these standards, we will be recruiting only those individuals, companies, and future supporters who have displayed a role in our organization’s history. Stakeholders commit their best efforts to ensure the integrity and success of the pledged project.

David Sandoval and Charon D’Aiello Sandoval

For decades, the Sandoval family has provided scholarship opportunities and other support to benefit Cal State LA students and the university community. Together, Charon D’Aiello (’79, ’80, ’86 M.A.) and David Sandoval (’75, ’87 M.A.) have worked for decades to bring more diversity to all aspects of Cal State LA—to the faculty and staff through D’Aiello’s work in the Office for Affirmative Action and to the student body through Sandoval’s role as director of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). They have also been among the strongest supporters of Hollenbeck and Inner City Games Programs. David Sandoval has served on the board of Directors for over 30 Years.


Marc Spizzirri

Marc Spizzirri is a highly accomplished Senior Executive and Entrepreneur. His experience encompasses a diverse range of businesses with an emphasis on retail automotive, commercial real estate, education, and philanthropy. 

In addition to serving on several non-profit boards, Marc has been a regent to the Boys and Girls Club and Dana Point Youth Baseball. He served as a reserve Sheriff and a member of the Orange County Sheriff Commission, a member of the University of Notre Dame President’s Council, and was appointed as Trustee for the two private schools he co-founded. 

Marc’s support of Hollenbeck Youth Center, Inner City Games, and After School All Stars spans more than 35 years. He’s been involved in several areas of the organization including fundraising, developing partnerships with large corporations, and assisting in high-level decision-making. 

Marc has earned an impressive number of awards and recognitions from National, State, and local civic leaders throughout his career. He was an Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” finalist, and the “Amigos de los Ninos Award” winner for his work with Los Angeles inner-city youth.


Brandon Hudler

Brandon is new to Hollenbeck as a stakeholder and boasts 10 years as a sales strategist in cultivating relationships with specified partners to maintain synergies across all facets of the corporate environment. He has a proven track record of delivering strong financial results with maximum efficiency. He has strong analytical skills to arm the decision process to better understand bottom-line decisions. Precocious business sense to understand foreign work environments with haste has only further reinforced the ability to create success in a creative and constructive way.


Sandy Piña

Raised in East Los Angeles, Sandy Piña is a successful businesswoman, a philanthropist, and a highly involved com activist for the last 40 years. As a Latina entrepreneur from humble beginnings, Ms. Piña is an advocate and supporter of a variety of causes for women, children, and the Latino community. Pioneering the way for professional women, in 1986 Ms.Piña became the first female Kiwanis Club member and eventual President of East LA Kiwanis Club. As a member of the Hollenbeck Youth Center Board, she chaired many fundraising committees.

She was also a featured member of the National Association of Professional Women, being awarded as a VIP for being one of the top 100 fastest-growing woman entrepreneurs. As a successful CEO of a company, she built alongside her husband, Jaime Piña.


Dr. Hector Flores

Dr. Hector Flores is currently the medical director for the Center for Hispanic Health at Adventist Health White Memorial and co-director of the Adventist Health White Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. He co-founded and serves as medical director of Family Care Specialists Medical Group (FCS) and has more than 25 years of experience in medical education. 

He attended Stanford University and the UC Davis School of Medicine and upon graduation received the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation National Merit Award in recognition of his academic excellence, commitment to social medicine, and recruitment of disadvantaged students and minorities into the health professions.  

Dr. Flores is a committed member and now a stakeholder of the Hollenbeck Police Business Council team celebrating five decades of community service.


Mario Barragan

Mario was born in Boyle Heights and attended Roosevelt High School. In 1992, Mario graduated from a five-year apprenticeship program and received his classification as a Journeyman Wireman. Since 1995, Mario has been a member of one of the greatest labor organizations in Los Angeles, IBEW Local 11, where he has been the union representative/organizer working on behalf of unrepresented workers. It is through this organization that he continues to bring generous support dollars and other resources to the Hollenbeck Youth Center to this day.


Stephen J. Cloobeck

Stephen J. Cloobeck is a prominent philanthropist, entrepreneur, and longtime advocate for
youth and community development. As the founder and former Chairman of Diamond Resorts
International, he has dedicated much of his career and personal efforts to giving back through
both corporate social responsibility and personal philanthropy.

Stephen became involved with the Inner-City Games/ After School Allstars as the charity of choose for volunteerism as part of the Diamond Resorts international in Las Vegas. Continue to help out in events with HPBC in Miracle on 1st Street and Dodgers Salute. His presence and support have helped elevate the mission of the organization and shine a spotlight on the importance of serving communities.


Robert Corona

Robert Corona is a proud member of IBEW Local 11 and a dedicated advocate for labor rights and community empowerment. With over two decades of experience in the electrical industry, Robert has demonstrated a deep commitment to both his trade and the people it serves. As a union representative and longtime supporter of worker advocacy, Robert has played a critical role in advancing fair labor practices and promoting opportunities for underrepresented communities across Los Angeles.

Robert’s support for the Hollenbeck Youth Center is rooted in his belief in uplifting future generations through access to mentorship, education, and career opportunities. His ongoing collaboration with the Hollenbeck Police Business Council reflects his dedication to strengthening community partnerships and investing in programs that create lasting impact.


In the past 50 years, 85% of donations have come from the private sector.
