In 2019 HPBC and Inner City Games… had its annual Dodger Salute honoring the legendary Dodger Manager Tommy Lasorda in which he stated that his last wish would be the Dodgers would win another World Series. For the next two years, COVID forced the Dodgers Salute Luncheon to go dark. The last fundraiser Lasorda was honored — in 2019. And he got his wish in 2021. Shortly thereafter Tommy passed away into his field of dreams. Rest In Peace Tommy and HPBC and Inner City Games will always be grateful.

Hollenbeck Youth Center’s ‘Dodgers Salute’ event is held annually, at Dodger Stadium. It’s a celebration of the decades-long relationship the Center and Inner City Games have had with the Dodger organization dating back to Peter O’Malley.  Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dodger icon Tommy Lasorda were outspoken supporters of Hollenbeck and the Inner City Games and helped to rally other supporters from across Southern California, the entertainment industry, Sports, and civic leadership.
