  • Hollenbeck Youth Center After School programs promote excellence in education.

  • HYC/ICG Essay & Art Awards Ceremony, 2014 - For the past two decades with the support of celebrity and law enforcement partners, HYC has created city-wide completion for our youth.

In the Los Angeles area alone, over 40,000 youth participate each year, making friends, learning sportsmanship, and being mentored.

We strive to further the variety and quality of these programs and make a greater connections with young people from a wide array of backgrounds. 

 

Enrichment

Summer Arts Camp
This is a week-long day camp where children can experience the arts in a creative and hands on way, culminating in a final performance in the end. The instructors are professional artists who have a passion to see young lives changed through an unleashing of creativity.

Art & Essay Banquet

The art and essay contest promotes writing in art skills as effective methods to express dreams, ideas and ambitions for a successful career and better community. Students are encouraged to submit essays, paintings or drawings to earn special recognition awards and prizes.

In addition to the skills and mentorship of our staff, we receive much-needed support from corporate sponsors, professional and amateur athletes, teachers, local business partners and law enforcement.

Multimedia Learning Center – Tutoring/Computer Lab
Academic tutoring and homework assistance, reading readiness programs. Provided in collaboration with LHTP. Computer literacy instruction and internet skills. Provided in collaboration with local high schools.

Music Entrepreneurship
Instructions classes on instruments and music, business education course on the music industry.

Overview

The Hollenbeck Youth Center/ Inner City Games also maintains a roster of programs designed to meet the growing needs and interests of the children and youth in East Los Angeles especially academic achievement through art and essay contests and scholarships.
